Wales hooker Emyr Phillips is expected to miss the Six Nations after being told that he must undergo shoulder surgery.
The 27-year-old dislocated his shoulder during Scarlets' 17-15 defeat to Ospreys on Saturday.
Phillips will undergo an operation on January 2 and is due to be sidelined for around 12 weeks.
He tweeted: "Thanks for all the get well messages, gutted to end the year with the injury but already looking forward to getting back onto the pitch!"
Wales start their 2015 Six Nations campaign on February 6 when they face England in Cardiff.
