Kevin Anderson beats David Ferrer to progress to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Kevin Anderson has progressed to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells with a 3-6 6-4 6-3 victory over David Ferrer.

Ferrer lost his serve early in the first set, but he broke back twice on his way to taking it 6-3.

However, Anderson broke the Spaniard late in a tight second set to clinch it 6-4 and force the decider.

The South African built on his second-set triumph and won the decider 6-3 with fourth-seeded Ferrer providing little opposition.
