Jerzy Janowicz has earned a surprise three-set victory over ninth seed Richard Gasquet in round three of the Rome Masters.
The Polish world number 24 lost the opening set 3-6 but he came back to take the second in a tie-break 7-2.
A single break at the start of the third gave Janowicz some breathing space and he held his nerve to close out the match 6-4.
He will now contest the second ATP quarter-final of his singles career against either Roger Federer or Gilles Simon.
