Anne Keothavong has bowed out of the Luxembourg Open in the second round after she lost in straight sets to Roberta Vinci.
Vinci is the first seed for the event and she proved too strong for Keothavong as she comfortably sealed a 6-4 6-1 victory.
Keothavong requires a strong end to the year if she is to remain in the top 100 of the WTA rankings.
She will also be hoping to shorten the gap on Heather Watson and Laura Robson, who have moved up to 50th and 52nd in the world rankings respectively.
