Great Britain's Andy Murray reaches the third round of the Olympic singles at Wimbledon with a comfortable 6-2 6-4 win over Finland's Jarkko Nieminen.

Great Britain's gold medal hope in the Olympics tennis singles, Andy Murray, has reached the third round by defeating Jarkko Nieminen in straight sets.

The 25-year-old broke Nieminen's serve to-15 in the opening game of the match before moving further ahead with another break in the fifth game.

Murray was dominating the baseline and wrapped up the first set 6-2 in just 27 minutes on Wimbledon's Centre Court.

The Scot began the second in the same manner as the first by breaking his Finnish opponent's serve at the first time of asking.

The remainder of the second saw both men hold their serve, which meant a 6-4 success and a place in the last 16 for Murray.

Murray, seeded three at the Games, will battle for a place in the quarter-finals with Cyprus's Marcos Baghdatis, who knocked out French 16th seed Richard Gasquet earlier today at the All England Club.
