Nicolas Almagro withdraws from Wimbledon with injury

Nicolas Almagro, who was 25th seed for next week's Wimbledon championships, is forced to withdraw from the SW19 Grand Slam due to an injury in his left foot.

Nicolas Almagro has been forced to pull out of next week's Wimbledon championships with a foot injury.

The 25th-seed Spaniard, who has been knocked out in the third round on his last three visits to the SW19 Grand Slam, is replaced in the draw by Canada's Vasek Pospisil.

Pospisil is elevated to 31st seed, with Russian Dmitry Tursunov, who has lost in the first round in four of the last five years, remaining 32nd seed.

The Wimbledon referees office announced: "Nicolas Almagro has withdrawn from the gentlemen's singles due to a foot injury."

The main draw takes place on Friday, with Britain's defending champion Andy Murray the third seed.
