Andy Murray admits that his aim for Wimbledon this year is to reach the semi-finals.

Britain's Andy Murray has admitted that he is targeting the semi-finals of Wimbledon after having avoided a potential quarter-final with Rafael Nadal.

Nadal could meet Roger Federer in the last-eight stage instead, with Murray's draw leaving him with a potential meeting with Nadal in the semis.

Murray, however, said that reaching the last four this year would be an achievement and that is where he would "love" to be.

"I have no issue with the seeding," Murray told reporters. "I'd rather Rafa and Roger were on the other side of the draw, but they're not.

"Hopefully I'll be able to put myself in a position where that becomes relevant, because that would mean getting to the semi-finals, and I'd love to be there."

Murray will take on Germany's Benjamin Becker in the first round.
