Novak Djokovic eases past Jeremy Chardy in straight sets to move into the fourth round of Wimbledon.

World number one Novak Djokovic has eased past Jeremy Chardy to book his place in the second week of Wimbledon.

The Frenchman put up an excellent fight in the opening set, with the first seven games going with serve and neither man able to get the breakthrough.

However, with the set coming to an end, Djokovic managed the crucial break for 5-3 before serving out the set.

From then on it was plain sailing for the Serbian, as two breaks of serve followed in the second before he claimed it 6-2 with his first set point.

Then in the third he broke early and late with very few unforced errors to let his opponent back in.

The set went the same way as the second, with Djokovic taking it 6-2 to cruise through to face Tommy Haas in the next round.
