The match began in the worst possible fashion for the visitors as Wilfried Kanon was shown a straight red card for a challenge inside the box, but Adnane Tighadouini missed the resulting penalty.
The home side broke the deadlock through Mats Seuntjes in the 31st minute and went into the break a goal ahead.
However, Michael Kramer netted his seventh goal of the season with little more than 20 minutes remaining to ensure that the visitors took a point in a crucial encounter at the foot of the Eredivisie.
