McCarthy: 'I won't decide Bialkowski future'

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy says that the club's board will decide whether goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski leaves Portman Road in January.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has suggested that he will not have the final say over the future of goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for the stopper, and McCarthy has acknowledged that the Eagles are considering a formal approach for the 30-year-old.

However, McCarthy has said that owner Marcus Evans will decide whether to cash in on the Pole, who is in the final year of his contract.

The 58-year-old is quoted by the Ipswich Star as saying: "It's not about stumping up the money I think he's worth, it's about stumping up the money Marcus [Evans] thinks he's worth. It's not my decision, that.

"I think it would be pretty restrictive, what Marcus thinks he's worth, because we all think he's a top, top goalkeeper."

Bialkowski has made 128 appearances for the Tractor Boys since joining the club in 2014.
