Nottingham Forest to rival Bolton Wanderers for Ryan Taylor?

Nottingham Forest are looking to beat Bolton Wanderers to the signing of free agent Ryan Taylor, according to a report.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly considering a move for former Newcastle United player Ryan Taylor.

The 30-year-old, who can play as a defender or midfielder, is a free agent after being released by the Magpies earlier this summer.

Taylor returned to action last season after battling back from two knee ligament injuries that limited his first-team appearances at St James' Park.

It has been reported that Bolton have already offered the 30-year-old a two-year deal, although terms have not been finalised.

According to the Nottingham Post, Forest boss Dougie Freedman will make his own move for Taylor and could tempt him to the City Ground with the offer of a longer contract.

Taylor made 15 appearances for Newcastle last term.
