Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Arsenal will endeavour to snap a two-game domestic losing run when they welcome newly-promoted Burnley to the Emirates on Saturday for a Premier League battle.

The Gunners were dumped out of the EFL Cup by West Ham United before losing their unbeaten top-flight streak in a 1-0 beating at the hands of Newcastle United, who struck through Anthony Gordon's controversial winner.

However, Mikel Arteta's men put one foot in the Champions League knockout stages by seeing off Sevilla 2-0 on Wednesday, as Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka struck either side of the half-time whistle.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Burnley, who fell to a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 11 (vs. Burnley)

Bukayo Saka - who was persistently targeted by Sevilla players in midweek - limped off on Wednesday evening with a blow to the ankle, although Arteta is confident that the England international has not sustained a serious issue and should be fine for Saturday.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: November 11 (vs. Burnley)

Takehiro Tomiyasu was another casualty of Wednesday's victory as he was brought off during the break with "discomfort", but his change was seemingly only a precautionary one, and he ought to make the squad this weekend.

Eddie Nketiah

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 11 (vs. Burnley)

In contrast, Eddie Nketiah is facing a race against time to prove his fitness for gameweek 12, having suffered an ankle injury against Newcastle, which caused him to miss training prior to the beating of Sevilla, although he was put through his paces on Friday.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: November 11 (vs. Burnley)

Similarly, Martin Odegaard was not cleared to face Los Palanganas as his previous hip concern flared up, and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners captain will be given the green light to line up on Saturday.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Emile Smith Rowe sustained a knee injury before last week's EFL Cup loss at the hands of West Ham, and the English playmaker will remain in the treatment room for a number of weeks.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Jurrien Timber's Premier League debut ended after just 50 minutes as the Dutchman suffered a devastating ACL injury, and he is battling to return from surgery before the end of the season.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 25 (vs. Brentford)

Gabriel Jesus is expected to be out until after the next international break due to a hamstring problem, although he has been called up to the Brazil squad for their November fixtures, which has not gone down well with the Emirates hierarchy.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Thomas Partey appeared to have pushed his injury woes to one side, but the Ghana international is now nursing a fresh thigh concern and could be out until the New Year after undergoing surgery.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, but Kai Havertz picked up his fourth yellow of the season for a reckless challenge on Sean Longstaff last weekend and is one booking away from a ban.
