Arsenal set for Carlo Ancelotti talks?

Arsenal are reportedly ready to hold talks with Carlo Ancelotti over becoming the next manager at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have reportedly indicated to Carlo Ancelotti that they wish to hold discussions regarding the managerial role at the Emirates Stadium.

After being sacked as Napoli boss on Tuesday night, Ancelotti has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League, where he has previously spent two years at Chelsea.

While there have been conflicting reports regarding Arsenal's wishlist, the Evening Standard claims that the Gunners board want to speak with the experienced Italian.

The report adds that Arsenal remain hopeful that Freddie Ljungberg, who was appointed as the interim replacement for Unai Emery, can move the club back towards the top four in the Premier League table.

However, with the former midfielder yet to prove himself in the dugout, there remains a desire to identify a long-term option as soon as possible.

Having parted ways with Marco Silva, Everton are also said to be monitoring the situation.
