Arsenal and England winger Theo Walcott insists that his sole focus is on the next match as he looks to continue the form that has seen him score four goals in four games.

Arsenal and England winger Theo Walcott has insisted that he is solely focused on the next game and will not dwell on what he has done in the past.

The 27-year-old has been a member of the Arsenal and England teams for more than a decade now, but he has been unable to establish himself as a first-choice starter over a prolonged period for either side.

Walcott's form has improved this season with four goals in his last four appearances for the Gunners, and he stressed his desire to maintain those recent standards.

"I'm not going to dwell on what I've done in the past. It's all about the next game. I've set myself standards this year which I don't want to drop and I won't drop them cos that's just the frame of mind I'm in," he told reporters.

Interim England boss Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Walcott will start Saturday's match against Malta at Wembley.
