Arsene Wenger: 'Arsenal still in title race'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger refuses to rule his side out of the title race following today's win at Everton.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refused to rule his side out of the title race following their 2-0 win at Everton today.

The Gunners ended a winless league run of three games at Goodison Park, a result that leaves them 11 points off leaders Leicester City after the Foxes claimed a win at Crystal Palace.

Wenger's side have a game in hand on Claudio Ranieri's men - a home clash with West Bromwich Albion next month - to keep them mathematically in with a shout of winning their first title since 2003-04.

"The character of my players was questioned. We know if we don't win today we were out of it. I think it was a mental test for the side," Wenger told Sky Sports News.

"I am not masochistic enough to consider us out. Mathematically we have a chance and a game in hand at home. We are not the flavour of the week but if we don't believe, no-one will do it for us.

"Even if the mind is sceptical, we have to give our best in every single game. We have to be humble and fight in every game like we did today then we never know. Of course we need some performances and some good results from the others. We cannot help that."

Next up for Arsenal after the international break is a London derby with Watford at the Emirates.
