Arsenal have reportedly emerged as the new frontrunners to complete a deal for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar.
Since the beginning of the January transfer window, Lemar has been linked with a number of Premier League teams, including the Gunners, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite the France international allegedly being against a mid-season exit, Marca claims that Arsenal are still monitoring the situation.
The report suggests that Mikel Arteta's team have moved ahead of their English rivals in a bid to sign Lemar, either on a temporary or permanent basis.
Much could depend on a change of heart from the 24-year-old, who is yet to score or provide an assist in 21 outings this season.
