Freddie Ljungberg urges Arsenal to sign Arturo Vidal

Freddie Ljungberg says that Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal would represent a "great" signing for Arsenal.

Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg believes that his former club should try to sign Arturo Vidal this summer.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Juventus, after helping the club to win their fourth successive Serie A title last season.

Ljungberg admits that he is a big fan of the Chilean midfielder and believes that he will make a similar impact to that of his international teammate Alexis Sanchez, who enjoyed a standout debut campaign with the Gunners.

"I think the players who are already there are great, but for me I want to see speed," Ljungberg told Sport360. "There were some rumours about Vidal, a great player, and he gets fuming if he loses the ball, so I like that. That kind of player would be great for the club.

"Look at Sanchez. After the World Cup in South Africa I said I wanted us to buy him, when he was at Udinese.

"He is quality but he also works hard as well. He has speed. When he loses the ball he still fights for it and that's what I like to see."

Vidal is currently in Chile with his national team, as they prepare to face Peru in the semi-finals of the Copa America next Tuesday.
