Claudio Ranieri's Monaco earn promotion to Ligue 1 with two matches of the season left to contest.

Monegasque-based Monaco have been promoted to the top flight of French football following today's 1-0 win over Nimes.

The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Ibrahima Toure struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time for Claudio Ranieri's team.

That was enough to secure promotion with two matches of the Ligue 2 season left to play.

Colombian international Radamel Falcao was recently linked with a switch to Monaco this summer.
