How Barcelona could line up against Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Barcelona could line up for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is under pressure to get his team selection spot on as La Blaugrana attempt to overturn a 4-1 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League last-16 showdown with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The Dutchman has witnessed three players all return from injury in recent weeks, only to see each member of the trio return to the treatment room as Ronald Araujo, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto all suffered setbacks in their recoveries.

The latter two are not expected to turn out this week, while Araujo has failed to recover in time as well, so the visiting manager will not make many alterations at the back.

Koeman has employed a 3-4-1-2 system in recent weeks to great effect, and if the Dutchman sticks with the same system here, Oscar Mingueza, Clement Lenglet and the much-maligned Samuel Umtiti could reprise their roles in defence.

Indeed, very few changes are expected from the victory over Osasuna at the weekend, although Jordi Alba landed awkwardly on his arm and will need to prove his fitness for the second leg.

Junior Firpo could deputise if Alba is not passed fit, but Sergino Dest, Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets will start once more over the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Ilaix Moriba, who scored his first goal for the club on Saturday.

Moriba's fellow teenager Pedri should occupy the number 10 role, while Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele will battle it out for the chance to partner PSG-linked Lionel Messi, who must produce a trademark magical performance if Barca are to somehow produce another phenomenal comeback against the French champions.

Barcelona possible starting lineup:
Ter Stegen; Mingueza, Umtiti, Lenglet; Dest, De Jong, Busquets, Alba; Pedri; Messi, Griezmann
