Pep Guardiola expecting tricky Hamburger SV clash

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola expects Wednesday's DFB-Pokal clash with Hamburg to be a tight affair, despite contrasting fortunes in the Bundesliga.

Pep Guardiola has insisted that his Bayern Munich troops will not be taking the challenge of Hamburger SV lightly ahead of Wednesday's DFB-Pokal clash.

The Bavarians are massive favourites to progress into the third round of the competition, with Guardiola's side 15 points ahead of them after nine games played in the Bundesliga.

However, Josef Zinnbauer's troops held Bayern to a 0-0 draw last month, and the Spaniard expects another tricky battle at the Imtech Arena.

"We have a big challenge ahead of us. It's a final, and the cup is always dangerous for the big teams. Either we can continue – or we're out," he told reporters.

"The Hamburg players run very much and are very aggressive; we've seen that in the league."

Kickoff tomorrow is scheduled for 7.30pm.
