USA 1-4 Brazil
A young Brazil side beat USA 4-1 in a friendly at the FedExField Stadium in Maryland.

Brazil have beaten USA 4-1 thanks to two goals in either half at the FedExField Stadium.

The South American side took control of the match from the beginning and were given the opportunity to break the deadlock in just the 12th minute after Leandro Damiao was fouled by Oguchi Onyewu inside the box.

Santos forward Neymar stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to give Brazil the lead.

Damiao continued to look dangerous and was denied a goal of his own midway through the first period when Tim Howard reacted well to keep the striker's effort out.

Brazil extended their lead in the 26th minute when Neymar picked out Thiago Silva from a corner and the AC Mian central defender fired his header past a helpless Howard.

Herculez Gomez managed to give USA some hope on the stroke of half time when he found space to head home Fabian Johnson's teasing cross.

Neymar proved to be a constant threat to the Americans and the youngster managed to pick out Marcelo, who finished a flowing move to give Brazil a 3-1 lead.

Brazil goalkeeper Rafael ensured that his side retained their two-goal advantage with 15 minutes remaining as he first denied Gomez before reacting superbly to keep out Terrence Boyd's powerful effort.

Substitute Alexandre Pato completed the scoring three minutes from time when he collected Marelo's pass before hitting a half volley past Howard.
