Bob Peeters angered by Charlton Athletic defeat

Charlton boss Bob Peeters hits out at his players after seeing them succumb to a 2-0 defeat at Blackburn, which extended their winless run to five Championship games.

Charlton Athletic boss Bob Peeters has slammed his team following their 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

The Addicks extended their winless run in the league to five games on Saturday as two first-half goals from Jordan Rhodes made the difference at Ewood Park.

Peeters admits that his players struggled throughout and never posed much of a threat to their opponents.

"I'm not happy at all and we started very badly. We know what they're all about: physical with a lot of presence in the box, but, if you give away the game in the first 15 minutes, you can't do anything about it," he told BBC Sport.

"We never felt like we were going to score. Our strength is normally our defence and defensive discipline, and that's what we lacked, especially in the first 20 minutes. If you come up against experienced teams with a lot of presence and aggression, you struggle like we did."

Charlton are back in action on Boxing Day when they host Cardiff City in the league.
