Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are fighting losing battles to be fit for Sunday's EFL Cup final with Chelsea.
Jota picked up an ankle injury during his side's Champions League win over Inter Milan at San Siro, where Firmino sustained a muscular issue.
The two strikers are already set to miss Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Leeds United, and Klopp has now issued a less-than-positive update on the pair.
Speaking to reporters at his pre-game press conference, Klopp said: "No, for tomorrow, no chance, and then [for] the final we will see. I don't know in the moment.
"It would be easy to say now 'no', but we will see. They are [pushing] but they were not on the pitch for training [yet] so that's not a good sign. We have to see what we can do with the boys in the next few days and then we make a decision later in the week."
Liverpool otherwise have no fresh injury concerns to worry about and will be aiming to move within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester City with victory over Leeds at Anfield.
