David Luiz: 'I nearly came to blows with Didier Drogba'

David Luiz concedes that he often has disagreements with some of Chelsea teammates during training sessions.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed that he often argues with his teammates during training.

The Brazilian international has admitted that on one occasion he almost had a physical altercation with striker Didier Drogba, who left the club during the summer for a lucrative stint in China.

However, Luiz believes that his tenacity is not necessarily a bad thing.

"I knew the responsibility of wearing the Chelsea shirt, but I kept in my mind that I would never be intimidated by the big names," he said. "Didier and I almost had a fight when he got angry after I challenged him during training.

"But having an argument is a good thing for the team and the players have to feel comfortable with that."

Luiz joined the Blues from Benfica in January 2011.
