Chelsea boss Graham Potter is reportedly in no immediate danger of being sacked after meeting with the club's co-owner Behdad Eghbali during the World Cup break.

Graham Potter has reportedly been reassured that he is in no immediate danger of being sacked as Chelsea boss.

After taking over the reins from Thomas Tuchel in September, Potter began his Chelsea tenure with a nine-game unbeaten run, but the Blues subsequently experienced a decline in results.

Prior to the World Cup break, Chelsea lost four of their previous five games in all competitions, including three consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

As a result of their poor run of form, Chelsea are currently sat in eighth place in the Premier League, with eight points separating them from the top four.

According to The Mirror, the Blues board still have faith that Potter is the right man for the job after the Chelsea boss met with co-owner Behdad Eghbali in California during the World Cup, where he was reassured of his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's home game against Bournemouth on Tuesday, Potter spoke about the communication between him and the club's owners.

Potter told reporters: "I'm even more confident, even more aware of the support I have now than three months ago when I took the job. It's a credit to them and how they have communicated with me, it's been fantastic.

"We all know the pressure and demands at this club, but we have also got enough people who can see the perspective and where we are at to be able to say, 'This is where we are, how can we improve?'

"I'm really looking forward to the weeks, months and years ahead. We understand where we are at and the challenges."

After they return to Premier League action against Bournemouth, the Blues will begin 2023 with an away trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest on New Year's Day.
