Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Sevilla's 23-year-old defender Jules Kounde in the summer, according to a report.
The Premier League side were heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman last summer, as well as in the January transfer window, but Sevilla refused to budge on an €80m (£67.1m) asking price.
With Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger set to leave Stamford Bridge on free transfers following the expiration of their contracts in June, head coach Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.
Although, despite a deal failing to be agreed in the past, Chelsea have a transfer in place ahead of the upcoming transfer window for Kounde, according to a report from Todofichajes.com.
The report suggests that an agreement is already in place for Kounde to make the move to England ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, with a transfer of around €60m (£50.3m) plus add-ons being completed.
After seeing a potential move to Chelsea fall through last year, Kounde has gone on to make 39 appearances across all competitions for Sevilla this season, helping his side to second place in La Liga at the time of writing.
