Chelsea are reportedly interested in securing the services of Antoine Griezmann on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
Following reports claiming that the Blaugrana cannot register new arrivals until they trim their wage bill further, Ronald Koeman's side are under pressure to offload some big names this summer.
The likes of Junior Firpo, Carles Alena and Jean-Clair Todibo have all been moved on, but some of the club's higher earners such as Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are also being linked with exits.
According to Sport, Chelsea could move for Griezmann as an alternative to Erling Braut Haaland, but Barcelona are only willing to send him out on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.
The report adds that Chelsea will have to fork out the entirety of the 30-year-old's wages while he is on the books in West London, and the Blues are at the head of the queue despite interest from Griezmann's former club Atletico Madrid, who do not have as much financial muscle.
The attacker scored a solitary goal for France at Euro 2020 and finished the 2020-21 season with 20 goals and 13 assists to his name from 51 appearances in all tournaments.
