Borussia Dortmund have identified Chelsea striker Timo Werner as a possible replacement for Erling Braut Haaland, according to a report.
Haaland has been heavily linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park as he has a £68m release clause that will become active next summer.
As a result, Dortmund are prepared to lose the Norwegian international and have already started the hunt for his successor in their attack.
According to Bild, Werner is one of a number of candidates on the club's shortlist, emerging as a "surprising solution" for manager Marco Rose.
The 25-year-old has gone down in the pecking order at Chelsea following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku in the summer and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
In his last season in the Bundesliga in 2019-20, Werner netted 28 goals in 34 appearances for RB Leipzig.
