Pep Guardiola reiterates no-sale stance on striker Sergio Aguero

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola makes clear that he has no intention of selling Sergio Aguero, three days after the striker was linked with a shock move to Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola has again stressed that striker Sergio Aguero will remain a Manchester City player come next season, despite being strongly linked with a move away.

The Argentina international, who bagged another 33 goals for the Citizens last term, emerged as a surprise target for Premier League rivals Chelsea earlier this week.

Guardiola has constantly had to bat away questions regarding Aguero's future in recent months after dropping him in favour of Gabriel Jesus, but he is confident that the former Atletico Madrid ace will not be departing the Etihad Stadium before the transfer window closes.

"You know my opinion on Sergio," he told reporters. "I said many times last season and he's our player. He will remain here."

Aguero's agent Hernan Reguera also promised City fans last month that the 29-year-old will be staying put as he is "happy" in Manchester.
