Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has reiterated that Danny Drinkwater does not feature in his plans at Stamford Bridge.
Drinkwater has not made a single competitive appearance under Sarri, with the 28-year-old's only outing coming during the Community Shield to Manchester City in August.
Sarri has suggested that he has left Drinkwater to decide his next move, but says that the England international is not under consideration for selection.
At a press conference, Sarri told reporters: "I think for him the problem is only my football. He's a very good midfielder but he is suitable for a midfield two because with a three he is not really a central midfielder or suitable for centre right or centre left."
When quizzed on Drinkwater's future, Sarri added: "I don't know. It depends on the club, it's up to him."
Drinkwater still has over three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
