Chelsea to target British signings?

Chelsea will reportedly target a number of British players during the upcoming transfer windows in order to comply with rules regarding homegrown players.

Chelsea have reportedly started to identify a number of potential British targets ahead of the next two transfer windows.

The Blues currently comply with Premier League rules regarding homegrown players, but a number of those members of the squad could leave Stamford Bridge over the next nine months.

Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are out of contract in the summer, Andreas Christensen and Victor Moses have barely featured in the Premier League this season, and neither Danny Drinkwater nor Robert Green has been involved under Maurizio Sarri.

Several of those players are not expected to stay at Chelsea in the long term, and according to the Daily Mail, the club are aware that they must find replacements.

Chelsea will be able to call upon their academy graduates to fill spaces in the squad, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham all potential inclusions.

However, the West Londoners have been linked with an approach for Bournemouth's Callum Wilson and it could indicate a start of a spending spree over the next two transfer windows.
