Sports Mole takes a close look at how each player performed in England's 1-1 draw with Denmark at Euro 2024.

England have been made to wait to book their spot in the last-16 stage of Euro 2024, with Gareth Southgate's side drawing 1-1 with Denmark in their second match at the competition.

Harry Kane's close-range finish sent the Three Lions ahead in the 18th minute of the contest, but a sensational hit from Morten Hjulmand saw the points shared in the Group C fixture.

Here, Sports Mole takes a close look at how each player performed during the clash.

Denmark player ratings vs. England: Hojbjerg produces man-of-the-match display

GOALKEEPER

Kasper Schmeichel - 6/10

Best moment of the match came in the second period when he made a brilliant save to deny Ollie Watkins. Went about his work with minimum fuss and was a commanding presence between the sticks.

DEFENCE

Joachim Andersen - 7/10

Dealt with Kane for long periods and can be pleased with what was a strong performance. Entered Euro 2024 off the back of an impressive campaign for Crystal Palace.

Andreas Christensen - 7/10

Played a lot of football in the Barcelona midfield in the second half of last season, but he has been back in defence at Euro 2024 and put in another strong performance here.

Jannik Vestergaard - 6/10

Found it difficult at times when England were able to isolate him, but the centre-back was strong in the air, and he also deserves credit for helping Denmark claim a welcome point.

MIDFIELD

Joakim Maehle - 6/10

Came into the side in the wing-back role on the right, and he was able to help out his defence, but the 27-year-old did find it difficult to produce higher up the field.

Morten Hjulmand - 8/10

Levelled the scores with a stunning strike in the first half, and he was uncertainly one of Denmark's best players against England, with his reputation growing further due to another strong performance.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 9/10

Comfortably the best player on the pitch. Had five shots in total, with two of those coming close to goals, while he made six tackles and finished with a pass success rate of 89%.

Christian Eriksen - 7/10

Veteran is likely to leave Manchester United this summer in search of regular action, and he showed his class with a solid performance for Denmark, with his passing a particular highlight.

Victor Kristiansen - 5/10

Made a terrible mistake for England's opener, with Kyle Walker catching the wing-back out, but he did improve before being replaced in the 57th minute of the contest.

ATTACK

Rasmus Hojlund - 6/10

Stretched England with his pace and movement early on, and he was a threat in the first period, but the Manchester United striker struggled after the break and was replaced in the 67th minute.

Jonas Wind - 5/10

Dropped into a deeper position at times, with Hojlund through the middle, but the attacker struggled to get involved in his side's passing moves, and he was replaced in the 57th minute alongside Kristiansen.

SUBSTITUTES

Mikkel Damsgaard - 6/10

Was Denmark's first player off the bench in the 57th minute, but the forward struggled to get into the match from an attacking point of view.

Alexander Bah - 6/10

Had a brilliant chance to deliver a dangerous cross into the England box late on, but he was denied by Marc Guehi. Brought energy to the wing-back position after dropping out of the XI.

Yussuf Poulsen - 6/10

Replaced Hojlund in the 67th minute of the contest, but he was unable to make much of an impact, with England's defence largely being tested by the Denmark midfielders.

Andreas Skov Olsen - 6/10

Was a part of a double Denmark change in the 82nd minute, and Olsen brought energy to his side in the latter stages of the contest.

Christian Norgaard - 6/10

As expected, Norgaard proved to be a dependable performer for Denmark when he was introduced in the 82nd minute, with the midfielder a calming presence.

England player ratings vs. Denmark: Bellingham, Kane struggle for Three Lions

GOALKEEPER

Jordan Pickford - 7/10

Had no chance with Denmark's leveller, and the Everton goalkeeper made some smart saves during the contest. Can be pleased with his performance in England's second match at the European Championship.

DEFENCE

Kyle Walker - 6/10

His bright run and cross led to England making the breakthrough, but the Manchester City defender faded from an attacking point of view as the match progressed.

John Stones - 6/10

One of England's most gifted players in possession of the ball, but the centre-back has been unable to showcase his skills during Euro 2024.

Marc Guehi - 6/10

Not quite as impressive as his first performance against Serbia, but he was again solid in the middle of the defence and recovered well to block after a mistake in the second period.

Kieran Trippier - 6/10

Solid defensively for England, but Trippier was hardly seen as an attacking threat. In an ideal world, head coach Southgate would be able to call upon Luke Shaw down the left.

MIDFIELD

Declan Rice - 6/10

Showed at Arsenal last season that he is capable of dominating matches from midfield, but Rice was asked to sit deep here, and he struggled to have an impact.

Jude Bellingham - 6/10

Proved to be England's star player against Serbia, but the Real Madrid midfielder found it difficult against Denmark, with the team's shape making it difficult for him to have an impact.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 5/10

Midfield experiment just did not work again; there is no doubting the Liverpool man's quality, but the 25-year-old is a defender, and he should be replaced in the starting XI for the next match.

ATTACK

Bukayo Saka - 6/10

Was one of England's best players against Serbia, but the Arsenal attacker found it difficult against Denmark. Had a half-chance early in the second period, heading into the side-netting from close range.

Harry Kane - 6/10

Found the back of the net with a smart finish in the first period, but the Three Lions captain was dropping far too deep, and it was not a shock when he was replaced in the 69th minute.

Phil Foden - 6/10

Hit the post early in the second period and had a couple of other half-chances during a decent display, but he has not managed to make his mark at the competition thus far.

SUBSTITUTES

Conor Gallagher - 6/10

Picked up a yellow card shortly after entering the field for a late challenge on Christensen. Was unable to influence the match after his entry early in the second period.

Jarrod Bowen - 6/10

Was a part of a triple change for England in the 69th minute, and the West Ham United forward did bring energy to the attack, but he was unable to have a serious impact.

Ollie Watkins - 7/10

Had a brilliant chance to win it for England, but he was denied by Schmeichel. Denmark's defenders did not relish coming up against the Aston Villa striker in the latter stages.

Eberechi Eze - 6/10

Entered Euro 2024 off the back of an excellent season for Palace, but Eze was unable to stamp his authority on this match, with Denmark able to deal with him.
