Everton will reportedly secure Roberto Martinez as their new manager within the next 48 hours.

Roberto Martinez will reportedly be announced as Everton's new manager within the next two days.

The Spaniard has been the front-runner for the vacancy on Merseyside ever since David Moyes decided to end his 11-year tenure at Goodison Park for a new challenge at Manchester United.

Following Martinez's decision to leave Wigan Athletic, the club's chairman Dave Whelan revealed yesterday that a compensation package has been agreed, allowing Martinez to speak to the Toffees.

While Everton attempted to play down suggestions that Martinez is poised to move to Goodison Park, the 39-year-old will sign on the dotted line within 48 hours, according to ESPN.

The Spanish coach will leave Wigan after guiding the side to FA Cup glory before suffering relegation to the Championship.
