Everton have reportedly entered the race to sign Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt this summer.
Ronald Koeman is thought to be on the lookout for more defensive reinforcements due to a long-term injury to Ramiro Funes-Mori, who is expected to miss a large chunk of the upcoming season.
The Toffees have already brought in Michael Keane this summer, but the Liverpool Echo reports that Koeman wants a left-sided defender and has identified Hoedt as a possible target.
The 23-year-old would reportedly be available for around £12m, but Everton could face competition for his signature from Southampton, who are considering Hoedt as a possible replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Hoedt, who has four Netherlands caps to his name, made 23 Serie A appearances for Lazio last season.
Everton have been one of the busiest clubs during the current transfer window, but Koeman is keen to add another playmaker, striker and goalkeeper this summer in addition to his pursuit of Hoedt.
