Roberto Martinez: 'No new deal for John Stones'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez reveals that the club have not offered a new deal to defender John Stones.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has stated that the club have not offered a new contract to John Stones.

The defender handed in a transfer request last month amid heavy interest from Premier League champions Chelsea, although it was immediately rejected by the Toffees.

The 20-year-old signed a new five-year deal with Everton last summer.

When asked about reports suggesting that Stones had been offered fresh terms, Martinez told ESPN: "No, there's nothing to announce there."

Stones has made six appearances for Everton so far this season.
