Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that he is not planning to make any big-money signings in January, despite making some important acquisitions in the window last season.
Moyes has admitted that he will not look to buy unless he sells any of his players, but is not planning to let any players go next month.
"Last year we sold Bilyaletdinov for £5.5m back to Russia and that gave us the opportunity to go and buy," Sky Sports News quotes Moyes as saying.
"We brought in Steven Pienaar on loan from Spurs, we bought Nikica Jelavic from Rangers for £5m and Darron Gibson from Man United for £500,000.
"We spent the money we got in - that is the way we have tended to work. My intention is not to sell anyone this January. What I'll be hoping to do is pick up a couple of loan players or maybe a [free transfer] if there is anything out there, although at this time of year you rarely get anything of the right quality."
Everton are currently fifth in the Premier League after the first half of the season.
