The German winger and the club's record signing make their Premier League debuts alongside five other new signings as the Cottagers mark their return to the top flight after a four-year absence.

Calum Chambers, Joe Bryan, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio and Aleksandar Mitrovic - now on a permanent contract after his move from Newcastle United - are the other newcomers to be included from the off as Fulham try to extend a run of unbeaten opening-day games at home that stretches back to 1989.

New signings Luciano Vietto, Sergio Rico and Timothy Fosu-Mensah make the bench, but Alfie Mawson is not in contention following a knee operation.

Roy Hodgson, who signed a one-year extension with Palace this week, sticks with tried-and-tested players in his starting XI as the Eagles aim to resume their six-match unbeaten run from the end of the previous campaign.

New signings Cheikhou Kouyate and Vicente Guaita grace the Eagles' bench, but Jordan Ayew and Max Meyer - who is deemed to be lacking match fitness - will not be involved today.

Scott Dann, Connor Wickham and Jonny Williams are also unavailable.
