Claudio Ranieri 'would never take 0-0 beforehand'

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri suggests that he is not too worried by his side's defensive frailties given that they have been able to score a high number of goals.

Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri has hinted that he is not concerned by the number of goals conceded by his players given that he backs his side to score more than their opposition.

The Foxes have enjoyed an impressive start under their new coach, as they now hold eighth spot in the league standings with 12 points, despite conceding 15 in seven domestic games.

"I am an Italian but I am a strange Italian. I would never take 0-0 beforehand. With all opponents, I always say the name does not matter," said Ranieri, according to Sky Sports News.

"At the beginning I offered the players a pizza because I want to stimulate my players because, since I have been here, only once, in a friendly match, have we maintained a clean sheet.

"This is our weakness, but it is also important to score one more goal than the other team."

Leicester return to Premier League action this weekend when they travel to face Norwich City on Saturday.
