Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has backed striker Rickie Lambert to shine at the club after a difficult start in his pre-season campaign.
Lambert missed a penalty for just the second time in his career in the Reds' win over AC Milan, which continued his struggles in front of goal since his move from Southampton.
Rodgers told the club's official website: "I spoke to Rickie and I said to him it's only important when it matters in the competition phase.
"He is obviously disappointed because he can't remember the last time he missed a penalty because he never missed one for Southampton in all the years he played there but he will be fine. Rickie will get goals for us, there's no doubt."
Lambert scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season for Southampton.
