If jobs at West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers become vacant over the next few days, Rob Edwards is someone who may be shortlisted for at least one of those roles.
Nevertheless, he instead must focus on the job in hand at Luton with his Hatters side sitting just three points above the relegation zone.
Although seven points coming from six games is an improvement of sorts, Luton have conceded seven goals in defeats at Leeds United and Norwich City.
Only Plymouth Argyle possess a worst defensive record than Luton, while they are without success on their travels since beating Millwall on September 14.
Fortunately for Edwards, his side are performing much better at Kenilworth Road, with seven points being accumulated from fixtures against West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City and Hull City.

As for Swansea, they can be satisfied with their recent efforts in the second tier, collecting 10 points from their last six games.
Wins over Watford and Derby County are the obvious highlights, while they came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Portsmouth last time out.
On the flip side, that share of the spoils will be viewed as points dropped, Swansea now sitting seven points adrift of the playoff places.
Luke Williams and his players can take confidence into this fixture, though, with just eight goals being conceded in their nine away league fixtures during 2024-25.

With Luton having been level with Norwich until the final 10 minutes, Edwards may be against making several changes to his side.
If an alteration is made, Victor Moses could be used at left wing-back, providing that Alfie Doughty remains unable to return from injury.
Changes may also be kept to a minimum with Swansea, the most likely recall being Goncalo Franco into midfield.
That would likely see Joe Allen drop down to the substitutes' bench, while Florian Bianchini will be hopeful of earning just a second start of the campaign at some point over the coming weeks.
Luton Town possible starting lineup:
Kaminski; Mengi, McGuinness, Bell; Hashioka, Brown, Baptiste, Clark, Moses; Adebayo, Morris
Swansea City possible starting lineup:
Vigouroux; Key, Cabango, Darling, Tymon; Franco, Grimes; Peart-Harris, Cullen, Ronald; Vipotnik
We say: Luton Town 1-1 Swansea City
This match is difficult to call as one of the worst defences square off against one of the poorest attacks. With that in mind, we are playing it safe and predicting a competitive draw, a result that suits neither of these teams.
