Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling refuses to write the Citizens off in the title race, with Pep Guardiola's side currently six points adrift of top spot.

Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling still believes that the Citizens can go the distance in the Premier League despite their underwhelming start.

Pep Guardiola's men currently sit ninth in the embryonic table with 19 points taken from a possible 33, leaving them six points adrift of early pacesetters Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

However, Guardiola's side have a game in hand over their title rivals, and Sterling has refused to throw in the towel with plenty of the season left to go.

Speaking ahead of City's Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, Sterling said: "There are so many teams that are in [the title race].

"Everyone is playing really well, and in some games teams are losing points - like the other day when we lost points and the other big teams lost points.

"It's open and there for the taking. We need to be more consistent, which I think we have been doing, in terms of not losing games. Now it's time to score a lot more goals and finish our chances."

Sterling has registered three goals and two assists for Guardiola's side in the 2020-21 top-flight campaign.
