Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Arsenal will endeavour to boost their Premier League title chances at the expense of Manchester United's when they welcome the Red Devils to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points with a 2-0 North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend courtesy of Hugo Lloris's own goal and Martin Odegaard's effort.

Mikel Arteta's men could see their lead cut down to five points if Manchester City overcome Tottenham later on Thursday, but Man United missed the chance to close the gap this week as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Arteta recently revealed that Gabriel Jesus - who was initially expected to return from knee surgery in March - may be out for longer than anticipated, but the striker should still return for the final few weeks of the campaign.

Reiss Nelson suffered a hamstring injury during a winter friendly with Juventus on December 17, and while he is making strong progress in his recovery, Sunday's clash is expected to come too soon for him.

Mohamed Elneny missed the North London derby after picking up a knee injury in training. The Egypt international is being assessed on a day-to-day basis, but he has already missed a few training sessions this week and is facing a race against time to be involved.

Third-choice right-back Cedric Soares was unavailable for the win over Tottenham due to a minor muscular problem, which may clear up in time for this game, but the 31-year-old is thought to be in talks over a transfer to Fulham and could therefore miss out regardless.
