Tom Heaton: Powerful Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot "nearly broke my arm"

Burnley's Tom Heaton claims that one of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's 12 shots in the goalless draw with Manchester United was so powerfully struck that he almost broke his arm.

Tom Heaton has said that he risked breaking his arm by keeping out one of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's 12 shots in Burnley's goalless draw against Manchester United.

The England international produced one of the displays of his life against his former club to help the Clarets to a famous point at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

United fired away a whopping 37 shots in total during the stalemate, with Heaton keeping out 11 of them - arguably the best of which arrived on the hour when denying Ibrahimovic's scissor-kick attempt with his starfish-like save.

"I knew I had two men behind me on the line, so I thought I'd get out, close the space and spread," Heaton is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "Thankfully it has hit me but it nearly broke my arm!"

The point takes Burnley up to 13th place in the Premier League table, just four points off Man United who are now winless in four league games.
