Gary Lineker: 'A massive overhaul needed at Manchester United'

Gary Lineker believes that a "massive overhaul" is required at Manchester United following their Champions League exit to Bayern Munich.

Former England footballer Gary Lineker believes that a "massive overhaul" is needed at Manchester United this summer following their Champions League exit.

David Moyes is expected to have more than £100m to spend in the transfer window at the end of the season, while the futures of a number of players including Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs remain uncertain.

Lineker believes that last night's defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals just confirms that major changes are needed at Old Trafford.

He wrote on Twitter: "Gutsy enough from #MUFC but ultimately confirmed what we know. A massive overhaul is required."

The Red Devils are unlikely to be part of next season's Champions League campaign given that they are seven points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in the Premier League.
