Former Manchester United centre-back Laurent Blanc is reportedly under consideration to replace Jose Mourinho as head coach of the Red Devils for the remainder of the season.
Mourinho was sacked by United on Tuesday morning, and it is understood that the club will appoint an interim replacement until the end of the campaign before looking for a long-term figure next summer.
Former United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly the leading candidate to replace Mourinho, but according to Sky Sports News, Blanc is also being considered by the 20-time English champions.
The report claims that United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is keen for the interim boss to understand the club's traditions, but the appointment will be external, rather than the likes of Michael Carrick stepping forward.
Blanc, who played for United between 2001 and 2003, has been without a position since leaving his post as head coach of Paris Saint-Germain in 2016.
The former central defender has also previously managed Bordeaux and France.
