Manchester United winger Anthony Martial returns to training ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has returned to training ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Martial was sidelined for the 2-2 draw with Burnley on Boxing Day after sustaining a minor knee injury during the draw with Leicester City three days prior.

However, the France international has made a swift return to training, taking part in a session on Thursday ahead of United's final game of 2017.

The 22-year-old is now in contention to return against Southampton along with Matteo Darmian, who also took part in training today following a minor injury.

Darmian could feature against Southampton should Antonio Valencia's absence continue, with the Ecuadorian picking up a hamstring injury earlier this month.

United, who now sit 15 points off the top of the table, are still without Eric Bailly, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini through injury.
