Brazil legend Rivaldo has claimed that Manchester United are getting a "wonderful player" after the club agreed a deal to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who is part of the Selecao for this summer's World Cup in Russia, is set to become Jose Mourinho's first signing of the summer.
Rivaldo, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, believes that his compatriot is the right fit for United.
"He is a wonderful player," the 46-year-old told Sky Sports News.
"Like any other player when you move to a new country, he will need a little bit of time to adapt.
"But when you are a good player and a brilliant midfielder like he is, he is going to do well and he is going to be good for Manchester United and they will be good for him."
Fred appeared as an 82nd-minute substitute for his country as they beat Croatia 2-0 in a friendly at Anfield on Sunday.
