Danny Welbeck: 'Stop-start season is worth it at Manchester United'

Danny Welbeck admits it has been a "stop-start" season but says it is worth it to play for "the best club in the world."

Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck has admitted that although it has been a stop-start season for him, it is worth playing for "the best club in the world".

Welbeck has struggled to command a regular first-team place with the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez all vying for positions.

He says that he does not mind though, as he gets to learn off these players in training and gain experience.

"It's been a bit stop-start," Welbeck said in the Mirror. "I've not been playing in my favourite position up front, but we're in a great league position, which is the most important thing.

"This is the best club in the world and I pick up great experience training with the other strikers."

Welbeck has played 14 times this season but only scored once and he was in the side as United beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 yesterday.
