Arsenal have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to sign PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo.
The 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength in his native Netherlands this term, registering 16 goals and 15 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Gakpo's form has understandably led to interest from top European clubs, with Manchester United, Barcelona and Liverpool all linked with a move for the attacker.
However, vi.nl now claims that Arsenal are at the head of the queue for Gakpo's signature, although the youngster is currently prioritising a spot in the Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Furthermore, the report adds that PSV are prepared to demand a club-record transfer fee for Gakpo's sale, with Hirving Lozano's £45m move to Napoli in 2019 currently holding that honour.
Gakpo only penned a new deal with PSV two months ago, with his current terms at the Philips Stadion not due to expire until the end of the 2025-26 season.
