Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet urges Jude Bellingham to resist Man United

Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet admits that he wants teenager Jude Bellingham to reject a summer transfer to Manchester United.

Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet has backed Jude Bellingham to keep his focus amid talk of a future move to Manchester United.

Having been linked with the Premier League giants since the turn of the year, the 16-year-old and his family held talks with United officials at Carrington earlier this week.

However, despite the prospect of Bellingham leaving St Andrews's for Old Trafford, Clotet wants the teenager to prioritise his current side.

Speaking to reporters, Clotet said: "I always thought he is very mature and very focused – but he has to be.

"Because he cannot be thinking about other things than Birmingham City – and I am sure he is only thinking about Birmingham City."

Bellingham, who has a contract until June 2021, has contributed four goals and two assists from 32 appearances in the Championship this campaign.
